Occupational Therapy + Yoga
Yoga and Occupational Therapy have a natural affinity for one another. Both disciplines promote improved physical and functional outcomes and used together create a dynamic state of improved wellness.
Yoga is a movement and breath based language, which brings stretch and strength to tight muscles. Occupational Therapy assesses the environment and uses rehabilitation techniques to improve daily function and increase home safety.
In combination, Occupational Therapy and Yoga address the physical, functional and environmental need to increase strength and function. The yoga will aim to address the structural, and the OT will address the environmental factors and physical barriers.
Lulu OT + Yoga offers personalized home based sessions incorporating these two practices as needed.
Sessions will include an assessment of the individuals’ needs and goals and evaluate environmental or physical barriers which may impede optima functioning. Solutions may include the use of yoga props, asana practice, exercises for home practice and/or environmental modifications. A home exercise program will be provided.
OT and Yoga sessions are perfect for the individual who is in chronic pain, recovering from a setback or is struggling with reduced daily function.
